ENCHANTING IMAGES FROM THE EXHIBITION "I FEEL YOU" BY Aliona Barbei Tureac
The personal exhibition of contemporary art by Aliona Barbei Tureac, "I feel you", opened at ABT ART Studio, presented to the audience a unique collection of 20 oil works, each conceived as a deep dive into the theme "The Gaze from the Painting". This theme raises questions about what hides behind the human gaze, offering each visitor to individually explore the answers.
The centerpiece of the exhibition is the artwork "Censorship" measuring 1900 mm by 1300 mm, created during a period of global uncertainty when humanity, barely recovering from the pandemic, faced new challenges, this time caused not by a virus but by human actions. This oil painting on canvas became a powerful expression of emotions experienced in an era when fear permeates everything, triggering various reactions in people: from anger to silent suffering within. Times when our mouths are hidden behind masks or censorship deprive us of the ability to freely express ourselves through touch and words, making the gaze the last bastion of inviolability and a means of communication – for opening up, accepting, rejecting, and protecting.
The "I feel you" exhibition attracted about 150 visitors on the opening day, indicating significant interest in the artist's works and the relevance of the themes addressed. This exhibition became not just an art project but a space for reflection on the interaction between the artist and the viewer, the impact of external circumstances on the inner world of individuals, and the power of art to speak on topics that often remain unspoken.
