First solo art exhibition "The Female Visage"
On December 12, 2020, in Chisinau, at the "ABT Art Studio" gallery, the first personal exhibition of the artist Aliona Barbei Tureac titled "The Female Visage" was held, becoming a landmark event in the cultural life of the capital. The exhibition was organized in support of Veronica, a little girl with disabilities, including an auction of three works by Aliona Barbei Tureac. The auctioneer set the starting price, and guests actively participated in the bidding, increasing their offers. Eventually, all lots were sold for a total of 4000 euros.
The exhibition featured 15 oil paintings and 10 graphic works dedicated to the theme of the female image. Each canvas is endowed with a unique story and mood that reflect the artist's view of the world.
The exhibition challenged the stereotypes of art, traditionally seeing the image of a woman through the male gaze, and emphasized the role of women as full-fledged creators in the world of art. The works of Aliona Barbei Tureac demonstrate that women can not only express their thoughts and experiences through art but also do so, contributing uniquely and presenting multiple perspectives.
One of the guests noted that despite the diversity of the works, each carries a unique trait characterizing the artist herself. Aliona Barbei Tureac managed to reveal many of her alter-egos through her paintings, showing the variety of female images and emotions.
All funds collected at the exhibition were directed towards purchasing a special wheelchair for Veronica, highlighting the social significance and contribution of the event to helping those in need. "The Female Visage" opened a new page in Aliona Barbei Tureac's career and became a bridge between art and charity, demonstrating the power of art to make changes in society.
