The Condition of Emergence explores the moment when external form ceases to function as protection and becomes a barrier between the individual and their authentic image. The face emerges from a fragmented surface. Layers appear to detach from it, breaking apart and revealing what has always existed beneath. Yet this disintegration is not an image of loss. On the contrary, it becomes the necessary condition for emergence — a way of seeing the face not as it has been shaped by external circumstances, roles, and expectations, but as it exists beyond them. The central element of the work is the gaze. Unlike the form surrounding it, the gaze remains whole and direct. It does not observe the destruction from the outside — it passes through it. The work therefore becomes not merely a representation of a face, but an exploration of the boundary between external identity and inner presence. The golden fragments of the surface unite the notions of destruction and value. What is falling away does not become waste or loss — it acquires its own significance as part of a process of liberation. In this work, disintegration is not understood as the end of form, but as its limit. When the external ceases to define the individual, the possibility of seeing what lies within emerges. The destruction of external form becomes the condition for the emergence of the inner face.
