“The Condition of Manifestation” explores the moment when the external form ceases to be a protection and becomes a barrier between a person and their authentic image. The face in the work emerges from a fragmented surface. Layers seem to detach from it, breaking apart and revealing what was previously concealed within. Yet this destruction is not an image of loss. On the contrary, it becomes a necessary condition for manifestation — a way of seeing the face not as it was shaped by external circumstances, roles, and expectations, but as it exists beyond them. The gaze becomes the central element. Unlike the form surrounding it, it remains whole and direct. It does not observe the destruction from the outside — it passes through it. Therefore, the work becomes not so much a depiction of a face as an exploration of the boundary between external identity and inner presence. The golden fragments of the surface unite signs of destruction and value. What peels away does not become waste or loss — it acquires its own significance as part of a process of liberation. On the right side of the painting appears a symbol inspired by the image of Thor’s Hammer and a contemporary runic bindrune. It becomes an extension of the work’s central idea — not a separate decorative element, but a symbolic code embedded within the image. The composition combines three runes: Tiwaz — will, direction, courage, and clarity of intention. Hagalaz — the destruction of the old and liberation from what no longer serves. Ingwaz — the inner core, potential, growth, and transition into a new state. Within the context of this work, the symbol acquires a particular meaning: to destroy what has become a barrier while preserving what constitutes the essence. The external form may change, fragment, or disappear, yet the inner core remains and is given the possibility to emerge. The symbol becomes a visual continuation of the gaze: it directs the viewer inward, toward what cannot be seen while the outer shell completely defines our perception. In this work, destruction is understood not as the end of form, but as its limit. When the external ceases to define a person, the possibility of seeing what is internal emerges. The destruction of the external form becomes the condition for the manifestation of the inner face.
