This work exists within a state of inner tension between vulnerability and strength, silence and resistance. The female figure seems to emerge from a space of water, light, and dissolving matter while remaining intensely focused and emotionally contained. The gaze becomes the central axis of the painting — a direct, almost confrontational connection in which exhaustion, sensitivity, and inner resilience coexist simultaneously.
In this work, I was interested in the condition of a person undergoing an inner transformation, when the previous emotional structure has already collapsed while the new one has not yet taken its final form. Water here appears not as a physical environment, but as a symbol of the subconscious, memory, and emotional depth. It simultaneously holds and purifies, dissolves and preserves.
The contrast between cold bluish tones and warm flesh and copper accents creates a feeling of inner conflict between fragility and vital force. The face and body seem to partially disappear into the surrounding space, leaving the viewer not with a completed image, but with an emotional state — a moment suspended between disappearance and the return to oneself.
For me, this work became an exploration of inner endurance. Not a loud form of strength associated with domination or defense, but a quiet ability to continue feeling, to preserve sensitivity, and to remain alive within one’s own psychological storm.
