This work is a reflection on the merging of human consciousness and technology, on the boundary between the natural and the artificial that is becoming increasingly blurred. Against a turquoise background streaked with binary code, two mirrored astronaut figures embody the archetype of the “double”: with closed eyes, immersed in inner contemplation and an apparent closeness that conceals solitude.
The painting reveals an inner conflict: one figure holds on to human vulnerability and connection to reality, while the other symbolizes the future in which the “I” dissolves into data. It captures a moment of inner stillness before a global transformation, where emotions and reason, spirituality and algorithms intertwine into a single network.
The binary code saturating the background symbolizes the infinite flow of information — at once a source of knowledge and a trap for perception. It points to a new type of connection between people, emerging in virtual spaces where algorithms increasingly shape our reality.
“Singularity” raises essential questions: do we preserve our individuality in the digital realm, or do we become reflections of machines? Will we remain masters of technology, or allow it to dictate our destiny? Where lies the threshold of spiritual awakening — and where begins the point at which human and machine no longer exist as separate entities?
Inspired by the aesthetics of sci-fi, from Kurzweil to The Matrix, the work draws attention to the fragility of human nature in the age of technological progress and embodies a fundamental fear — dissolving into the illusion of connection while losing one’s true self.
